VALLEY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC LEAGUE TRACK AND FIELD RULES


RUNNING EVENTS:
Mile and 800m -Olympic start.  Runners unlimited.  Lane events for others.

Order of competition: 6,7,8.

Hurdles/100

Use of starting blocks recommended.
Distance for hurdles.
Boys 65m = 14m from start to the first hurdle and last hurdle to the finish line. 9.25m between each hurdles.
Girls 60m = 13m from start to the first hurdle and last hurdle to the finish line. 8.5m between each hurdles.

400m/1600m relays

All runners stay in their lane for 400m relay.
All First runners stay in their lane for 1600m relay. 2 – 4 runners can cut into 1st lane.

Field events: Sign in at the beginning of the meet.  If you leave for a track event, you must tell the field event judge before you leave.

League/sectional track meets
1. Team points (1st-6th place). (10,8,6,4,2,1)
2. All top 8 finishers in sectional & league final will receive recognition.
